Have you ever had a celebrity crush? If so, did you ever think what would happen if you met that person in real life? Perhaps there could be a mutual attraction. Probably not though, I mean… But From Fan to Forever is a romance novel, and anything is possible.
Cate Whitney is a beautiful movie star and a lesbian icon ever since she played a lesbian in a movie. Most lesbians have a crush on her and/or owe their coming out to her. Same goes for Rachel Janssen, an introverted medical physics student. She is stunned when she finds out that Cate is filming a new movie practically next to her apartment. When her roommate Abby dares her to meet Cate (it’s now or never), she sneaks her way in to meet her and ask for an autograph. Things go differently than anticipated, and a lot better than Rachel hoped for. Rachel is even suspecting that Cate is flirting with her?!
But that couldn’t be, she was married with a famous actor and there have never been rumors about Cate being gay. Turns out Rachels intuition is spot on, Cate is flirting with her. She makes it clear she wants Rachel and she doesn’t plan to hide it from anyone. As you can imagine, Rachel has no idea what is happening to her. Cate Whitney pursuing a relationship? With her? How can that even work, despite the desire and the easy flow between them. There is also the slight problem of Rachel being in the limelight triggering an earlier trauma. On top of it, Cate’s ex-husband is a jealous ass and tries to tear them apart.
I bought this book a while ago because of the premise of the fan and the movie star falling for each other. Honestly, the cover put me off a bit. But the old adage ‘never judge a book by it’s cover’ applies here. This was a delicious novel. Tiana Warner’s writing style works beautifully for me. It’s been a while since I needed to keep reading a novel till it was finished. In a subtle way she made me believe that Cate and Rachel could actually be a couple π₯°β€οΈ.
