I started this blog exactly a year ago today. It was something I had been thinking about for a while. It started out as a review site for lesbian fiction. But it didn’t feel right. There are already numerous review blogs, sites, etc. There are numerous blogs, sites, etc, writing about lesbian fiction, period. What could I possibly add to that? Still, I wanted to do something. So I thought, why not make it something of my own, like a book club of one? And that was the start of Mylesficfavs. Later on I realized the best way to describe my blog is that I write posts about my personal favorite recommendations π.

Now, a year later, I wrote 148 posts π―π±! No idea how I did that, or better yet when π! But it is so much fun just doing something that gives me so much joy and pleasure. Picking which ones to write about wasn’t hard at first. By the time I started Mylesficfavs, I had a vast backlog of books and fics I had already read. A lot of the time it was simply backtracking to the ones I’d enjoyed the most. There hasn’t been a vast backlog for a while now though. I just read, a lot or as much as I can in my spare time. And there are still a lot of titles on my tbr-list. In 2022 my backlog and tbr-list expanded greatly with fabulous ships like Supercorp and SwanQueen and the delicious fics written in their fandom.
A special thanks goes to all the fabulous writers of lesbian fiction and f/f fanfic! Thank you all for making this possible β€οΈ!
My best of the best in 2022
Which ones were the best of the best I’ve written about? Well, it is obviously an impossible endeavor to choose a top 10 of my favorite titles. But I was thinking: suppose electricity would become scarcer and scarcer, and I wouldn’t be able to power up my e-readers, tablet, phone, pc, laptop or tablet π. Which printed copies of books and fics would I haul with me wherever I went so that I would always be able to read them π€? After a lot of thought (because it is impossible to choose), I came up with these 20 titles. I guess it will be a lot of weight to carry around with me, but it’ll be worth it! Here they are, in no particular order:
Top 10 fanfics
- Stay The Night – lynnearlington (the one that made me fall in love with Supercorp – or maybe just with Lena Luthor)
- Love Like on a Silver Screen – powergrapes (the one that made me afraid to blink in case I would miss something)
- Falling In My Lemonade – Exquisiteliltart (the one that made me laugh so hard, and in the next breath made me just hard)
- Send Up a Signal (that everythingβs fine) β coalitiongirl (the one that left me in awe and respect for coalitiongirl’s penmanship and her dedication to the SQ fans – or maybe just the one that made me fall in love with Regina Mills)
- This is Heaven in Hiding β orangeyouglad8 (the one with the hottest depiction of Lexa; Clarke never stood a chance)
- donβt wanna be your girl β faithtastic (the one that made me fall in love with Clexa Γ‘nd fanfiction again, also the best, funniest, sexiest, and well written fic I have ever read – got this one already printed in paperback)
- This War of Needs – N1ghtWr1ter, RaeDMagdon (the one that got me hooked on omegaverse or A/B/O, phew!)
- The Fifth Wall – Black_Tea_and_Bones (the one that had me swooning over a kid SC never chose to have together and Kara’s greatest act of love)
- Habit Forming (series) – Aspidities (the one that had me gasping and swooning the whole time, god)
- There’s A Big Old Moon Shining Down At Night – Jazzfordshire (the one that kept me thinking, please make this into a movie – same cast though!)

Top 10 lesbian novels
- Night Tide – Anna Burke (the one with the most exhilarating and romantic kiss ever described in a lesfic novel, and Anna Burke’s fantastic writing)
- After the Summer Rain – Gerri Hill (the one which made me cry happy tears and left me full of dreams and longing)
- Don’t Call Me Hero (Serie) – Eliza Lentzski (the one – or ones, that might be a slight problem – that made me fall in love with a fictional character – Julia Desjardin, or maybe that is just because Eliza pictured SwanQueen when writing this, either way I’d take them)
- Keepers of the Cave – Gerri Hill (the one with the most beautiful pair: CJ and Paige, also with the most bizarre storyline – again, make this into a movie please)
- Weeping Walls – Gerri Hill (the one with CJ and Paige again, it’s a creepy story but so beautiful – CJ is special)
- In The Distance There is Light – Harper Bliss (the one with the most improbable, impossible, scandalous pair, but so fucking beautiful and romantic, god I love this one)
- The Cottage – Gerri Hill (the one where I cried – again- out of sadness and hope, for this beautiful love story between these two women – this is a classic in my book – beautifully written)
- At Seventeen – Gerri Hill (the one with the best and most beautiful first time, first love, second chance story ever!)
- Curious Wine – Katherine V. Forrest (the one which will always be in my top 3, a classic love story and the one which got me absolutely, devastatingly, irreversibly hooked on lesfic novels)
- The Sex Therapist Next Door β Meghan OβBrien (the one that taught me a thing or two of things I never knew I didn’t know, this one is the hottest one I read by this fantastic writer of lesbian erotica)

What’s next?
For 2023 I anticipate more fabulous books and fics to write about. I got some 100+ books and at least as many fics on my tbr-list. And I know great titles will be published next year, like book 6 in the Don’t Call Me Hero serie, the conclusion in Tori Hunter’s story. the new Anna Burke, and so much more. I look forward to reading fics with new ships like Avatrice (Warrior Nun) and CaitVi (Arcane). And there are more to discover. But, alas, I only got so much time. It’s a luxury problem, so that’s ok. This is my favorite hobby and is still so much fun doing. And when I’ve read something that I genuinely loved, I’ll write about it. So I say:
On to next year………

Congratulations! What a fabulous accomplishement. We love your love of lesfic! πβ€οΈππ₯°ππ»
